MEET THE
STALLIONS OF AVALON

During our 15 years of operation, Avalon Farms has been committed to excellence in our breeding of Andalusian horses.

Because of recent developments, we are disbursing the majority of our PRE Andalusians.  All PRE’s have their CARTA’s (Spanish studbook papers) or have been inscribed with ANCCE (the representatives of Spain’s PRE studbook).

Our stallions are all proven performers and producers who are descended from PRE Andalusians nationally recognized in Spain for both beauty and athleticism.  Photos of offspring are available on our foals page.

All of our stallions have the wonderful temperaments desired by horse lovers of both cooperative show horses and pampered pets.

PRE Andalusian stallions Certero 3/V (homozygous black Eeaa) and Favorito KG (EEAa, able to produce black or bay), are standing stud for their new owner, Hector Rivera of Rivera Andalusians and can be viewed in person at Hart Training Stables (517-719-3637) located just outside Lansing, Michigan.  Information regarding these fine stallions may be obtained through this website and email or from Hector Rivera 708-417-5671 or riverasandalusianfarm@yahoo.com.  (Habla español)

See Certero 3/V and Favorito KG’s pages for details on these spectacular PRE Andalusian stallions.

FAVORITO de la PARRA (Favorito XLVIII) Favorito de la Parra / XLVIII was showcased at the2008 Fiesta Midwest Horse Show.  He is the Half brother to the 1992 National Champion of Spain, Favorito XXX and one of the few Pure Paco Lazo stallions available in the United States.

Favorito de la Parra displays a unique color. Although clearly not black, he has been tested as homozygous black and negative for the bay agouti, crème gene, pearl gene, and silver gene.

He carries the primitive markings of facial masking, shoulder shading, dorsal stripe, rib stripping and leg barring. He also has white guard hairs and mouse colored ear hair. He markings can only been seen with his summer coat.

When a genetic test for the dun gene is available, Favorito de la Parra/XLVIII will be tested.

ARTURO KG is a half brother of Favorito de la Parra through his bay imported dam, Lebrijana XI (pure Paco Lazo), who is the full sister to Cordobes XX.

His sire was our foundation dressage stallion, Majorio II, who traveled North America with the Royal Lipizzan Stallion Show. The son of National Champion, Primoroso II, Majorio was adept at airs above ground, but careful and loyal to his owner.

Arturo shares his father’s natural charmisa, talent, exceptionally smooth gaits (even for a breed known for their smooth ride) and his sire’s willingness to “dial down” for amateur riders. Arturo has been passing his charisma and athleticism to his offspring. All owners of Arturo foals have been pleased with their offspring.

MAJO KG is a son of Majorio II, out of Ilusion III/de la Parra, (a daughter of the National Champion, Boticario de la Parra). Majo is a poster child for the Andalusian breed. He has correct round conformation with abundant mane and tail and incredible athletic ability.

Author and FEI Trainer, Paul Belasik, praised Majo KG during one of his clinics in 2008 (held in January 2008 when the temperature was 0°F). Mr. Belasik told the audience that working with Majo KG made him want to keep his own 3 year old stud colt, Majo reminded him how enjoyable it was to work with an Andalusian.

ESPERANZA KG x Majo KG - Esperanza KG has been purchased in foal to Majo KG by the reknown Andalusians de la Parra. The Parra family of Andalusians de la Parra have decided to restart their breeding program and Avalon Farms is thrilled that Esperanza KG (Certero 3/V x Dichosa de la Parra (x Dejado)) has been selected as one of their foundation mares. Majo KG is the grandson of the Parra favorite, and 1981 National Champion, Primoroso II (sire’s side) and the 1992 National Champion, Boticario de la Parra (dam’s side).
